Portugal RRP – €81 million paid and 335 applications approved in past week

Last week Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) paid out beneficiaries €81 million and approved applications for funds for 355 candidates according to the latest monitoring report.

To Thursday, total payments reached €7.9Bn or 36% of the total funds available to companies and other entities for projects.

Companies received the lion’s share with €2.8Bn, followed by public entities (€1.7Bn) and municipal councils with €994 million.

Public companies netted €841 million, schools (585 million), higher education establishments (€247 million) and scientific and technological institutions have got €210 million to date.

In turn, green lights have been given for projects cover €21.7Bn or 98% of the the total value available.

Public companies (€2.8Bn) and schools (€1.03Bn) round off the top 5. Then come higher education institutions (€821 million), solidarity and social economy institutions (€690 million), scientific and technological system institutions (€551 million) and, finally, families (€278 million).

To Thursday, the RRP received 375,377 applications of which 304,910 have been analysed.

The RRP has an execution deadline to the end of 2026 by which a number of reforms and investments aimed at modernising Portugal’s companies and the apparatus of the State to recover economic growth must be completed.
