Portugal PRODUTECH Conference to be held in Porto
PRODUTECH, the Production Technologies Cluster promoted by the Portuguese Manufacturing Technologies Cluster promoted by the Portuguese Manufacturing Technologies Industry is to hold its annual conference in Porto on July 2.
The conference is held within the framework of the PRODUTECH R3 Mobilizing Agenda https://r3.produtech.org/pt , which focuses on production technologies for reindustrialization—a sector of growing strategic importance in Portugal.
The conference will bring together all consortium partners involved in the agenda, along with national and international policymakers, business associations, public institutions, and commercial stakeholders. In addition to topical debates, the programme will include demonstrations showcasing the progress and innovations developed through the initiative.
The Production Technologies chain equips the diverse sectors of Portugal’s manufacturing industry, and is therefore of key importance to the Portuguese economy.
Representing around 36,700 companies, with 156,000 employees, the Production Technology chain exports more than 80% of its total production.
RODUTECH R3 will transform industry by developing and implementing new production technologies.
Led by COLEP Packaging, the Mobilising Agenda of the Production Technologies Sector for Reindustrialisation – PRODUTECH 3 brings together 108 companies from the main sectors of industry and the scientific and technological ecosystem.
It is a strategic and integrated initiative made up of a series of programmes aimed at Industry Transformation; Industry Qualification for Resilience, Growth and Innovation, Training and Professional Education in Innovative Production Technologies; and the Industrialisation of Companies.
With an investment of around €167 million and an incentive of €96 million, and by the end of 2025 PRODUTECH R3 will launch 85 new production technologies onto the market, which will be developed and tested on 52 industrial pilots from different sectors.
It will also support the internationalisation of industry, including its active participation in European research and innovation programmes and initiatives.
By combining developments with demonstrators and pilot lines with a wide variety of end users, it is expected that by 2027 this will be translated into sales for the technology suppliers on the agenda of around €62 million.
PRODUTECH R3 will thereby promote a higher internal and external visibility for the national production technology sector.
With the creation of a true innovation ecosystem, based on strategic collaboration between the industry and user sectors.
