Port warehouses at Alcântara Docks to become office building
An old warehouse in Lisbon’s docklands is to be transformed into an innovative office building.
The refurbishment project called The Wake on the River Tagus is being developed by Placer in a joint venture with the entrepreneur Francisco Matos Gi, and results from the refurbishment of five former port warehouses which previously had been occupied by restaurant and entertainment spaces.
This new office building lies within one of the most dynamic and creative parts of Lisbon, between Cais do Sodré and Alcântara and has become the ideal place for companies looking for inspiring environments in which to motivate and look after their teams.
With a total area of 2,758m², of which 1,980m² are still available, the building has a unique flexibility, allowing different configurations according to the needs of each occupant.
Among the main attributes of The Wake is its privileged location next to the Tagus River and the Alcântara Dock, with the marina and the 25 de Abril Bridge as the backdrop, offering an inspiring setting for everyday work.
The private outdoor spaces, which total 400m², were designed to enhance the well-being and productivity of the teams, allowing moments of rest, brainstorming or simply enjoying the river, the sun and the surrounding landscape, together with the team.
Real estate consultants CBRE and DILS were mandated to represent Placer to jointly commercialise The Wake under an exclusive commercialisation regime.
In addition, the project aims to foster a balance between work and an active lifestyle. Its surroundings include immediate access to a running track, bike paths and many other sports and cultural activities that the riverside area offers, valuing a holistic approach to the well-being of employees.
The Wake also offers the possibility for each company to occupy an independent unit with its own identity, thanks to the division of the old port warehouses into autonomous and iconic spaces.
