Sword Health prepares to buy company for hundreds of millions
The Portuguese unicorn Sword Health is acquiring the US company Vigilant, which provides a range of investment management and cybersecurity solutions, for “hundreds of millions”.
This is according to the news source Expresso that spoke to Sword Health’s CEO, Virgílio Bento who also said that Sword will end the year with its first profit.
As to the acquisition, Virgílio Bento said that the acquisition would be formally announced over the next six weeks.
Sword Health has opted for a growth strategy by purchasing two companies: the US company Vigilant and the British company Surgery Hero.
Sword Health is a digital health company focused on providing virtual physical therapy and other related services for musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. They aim to help individuals manage pain, prevent injuries, and recover from surgery through personalised treatment plans delivered via technology, often with human oversight. Sword Health primarily serves employers and health plans to offer these services to their members and employees.
