Médis Serviços de Saúde (Medis Health Services), an Ageas Portugal Group company, has signed an agreement to acquire Fisio Share, a leader in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation medicine areas that operates under the Esfera Saúde brand.

The acquisition comes after the acquisition of Grupo One Clinics in 2024 “consolidating Grupo Ageas Portugal’s Commitment to strengthen its presence in the private health sector through the Médis brand, and offer a wide range of services to its clients”, says the insurer in a communiqué, adding “this purchase shows its commitment to innovate and offer more complete and integrated health care solutions”.

“The acquisition of Esfera Saúde is an important step in our growth strategy in the health sector,” says Eduardo Consiglieri Pedroso, a member of Grupo Ageas Portugal’s Executive Commission.

“With its ample network of local clinics and a particularly strong presence in the North region of Portugal, Esfera Saúde will complement the Médis health ecosystem offer in healthcare provision, contributing to our mission to provide good healthcare for all.”

Founded in 2008, Esfera Saúde has 19 clinics, including 18 specialised units in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and a specialised unit in gastroenterology.

Employing 200, and initially concentrated in the North, Esfera Saúde is now expanding to the Lisbon area, driven by the desire to enhance its clinics and consolidate in the market.
