Abanca nets €386 million profits in 1H

In the first half of 2026, ABANCA achieved a profit before tax of €501 million, 3.7% more than in the previous year.

Profit after tax stood at €386 million euros, 9.6% less than in the same period of the previous year, due to the increase in the effective tax rate caused by the lower use of tax credits. ROTE profitability stood at 12.2%, far exceeding the cost of capital.

The result obtained is based on the efficient growth of the business and the good management of the balance sheet.

Through its profitable and solvent growth model, ABANCA continues to show high commercial dynamism and intensifies the acquisition of new customers, reinforcing its Iberian presence.

The Bank acquired more than 77,000 new customers in Spain and Portugal combined during the semester, mostly (71%) outside its home market.
