Portugal debt grows €721Bn
Portugal’s total economic debt has soared to its highest level since September 2017 – €721Bn.
February was the second month running that the debt had passed the €720Bn.
Portugal’s total public debt rose by €2Bn to €721Bn in February this year.
“In February 2018 non-financial sector debt stood at 3720.9Bn states the Bank of Portugal in its report released on Thursday. Regarding January 2018, non-financial sector debt increased €2Bn reports the central bank.
“This increase is down to an additional €2.5Bn on public sector debt which was partially offset by a €500m reduction in private sector debt.
