Portuguese hotels do well at World Luxury Hotel Awards

No less than 23 hotels in Portugal picked up awards at the World Luxury Hotel Awards on 10 November 2018.

They are: 1908 Lisbon Hotel (Architectural Design), Alentejo Marmoris Hotel & Spa (Architectural Design), Aqua Village, Health Resort & Spa (Hot Spring Resort), Corinthia Hotel (Eco/Green Hotel), Corpo Santo Lisbon Historical Hotel (Historical Hotel), Dunas Douradas Beach Club (Beach Resort), EPIC SANA Algarve (Coastal Hotel), Hotel Faro & Beach Club (Harbour Hotel), Inspira Santa Marta Hotel (Eco/Green Hotel), InterContinental Estoril (Coastal Hotel), Intercontinental Hotel Lisbon (Hotel and Conference Centre), Luz Charming Houses (Country House), Palácio Belmonte (Palace Hotel), Palácio  do Governador (Historical Hotel), Pine Cliffs, Luxury Collection Resort (Ocean View Hotel), Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa (Business Hotel), RM Guest House (Guest House), Sheraton Cascais Resort (Garden Resort), Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade (Brand), Torel Avantgarde (Luxury Art), Valverde Palácio De Santa Catarina (Palace Hotel) and Vidago Palace Hotel (Wedding Destination).

This year’s awards took place at the Ayana Resort & Spa, Bali, Indonesia with a black-tie event with over 360 guests flown from around the world to attend the event.

Created in 2006, the World Luxury Hotel Awards are the most prestigious distinction in the luxury hotel industry and is a benchmark for clients and operators worldwide. The awards represent the international recognition of guests, travellers and industry players in the hotel and tourism sector.

This year 2000 hotel units from all over the world were nominated based on the votes of 300,000 international travellers voting over a period of four weeks to select the winners.
