Martinhal Group wins Special Award at Family Traveller Awards

The Martinhal Group has won the ‘Special Award for Contribution to the Family Travel Industry’ this week at the Family Traveller Awards at the Unicorn Theatre, London.

The award, picked up by Martinhal Group CEO Chitra Stern, was personally presented by pop sensation Ronan Keating and UK TV and radio presenter Charlotte Hawkins.

Chitra Stern said she “humbly accepted the award” on behalf of her husband and partner Roman Stern and the Martinhal team.

Now in its fourth year, the prestigious Family Traveller Awards are dedicated to finding the very best family holidays and days out.

The judges included Mariella Frostup (Radio 4), Simon Reeve (BBC Presenter), Katy Hill (TV Presenter), Jane Anderson (Family Traveller), Jane Knight (The Times) and Sue Ward Davies (Elle Magazine).

Family Traveller is a multi-platform lifestyle brand which targets parents via inspiring content in order to maximise their precious time together. Its target audience is 28-50 affluent mothers with children aged 0-15 years. It reaches around 500,000 UK households per month across print, website, e-mail and social media. The editorial is led by travel, but includes fashion, beauty, health, home, entertainment and finance.

Chitra Stern owns and runs the exclusive family friendly Martinhal hotels in the Algarve, Cascais and Lisbon which represent luxury, family, stylish design and hospitality. The brand and concept began with the Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel opening in Sagres, Algarve, in 2010.
