Novo Banco organises Dão wine tourism conference
To be held at the Pousada de Viseu, the conference is called “A Road to Wine and Tourism,” as part of the Grape Harvest Festival, in Portugal called the Festa da Vindima.
“The historic and architectural richness and legacy associated with the Dão vineyards and their stately homes, and the area’s gastronomy and landscapes are factors, among others, related to wine culture and production in the area and can act as a catalyst to promote wine tourism in the region,” stated Novo Banco in a communiqué promoting the conference.
The conference will be opened by Novo Banco Chief Economist, Carlos Andrade who will present a study on Wine Tourism also known as Enotourism.
Round table panels will discuss investment in wine tourism and wine tourism development strategies for the Dão.
In addition to the bank’s President António Ramalho, other leading figures at the conference will include Hugo Chaves (Quinta de Lemos), Luís Amaral (Santacastta) and Almeida Henriques, Mayor of Viseu.
