Lisbon hosts EIB startup bootcamp 2020

The European Investment Bank has selected Lisbon’s IES Business School as the bootcamp for the finalists of its startups academy programme for the startups which most made an impact for this year.

The 15 companies selected and which have been financially nurtured by the EIB — none of them Portuguese this time — will go to the Champalimaud Foundation on 8 October to give a presentation of themselves and try to attract potential investors and clients.
The 15 international startups will be put through their paces in preparation by the IES Social Business School, which will offer mentoring sessions and organise a bootcamp to improve their business models and prepare them to make their public ‘pitches’.
“We have a 10-step process and tools which are codified into a manual, which will help them to structure their model, and another one for learning from emotions to bolster a sense of being linked to the community,” says IES CEO Carlos Azevedo.
The training, because of the Covid-19 situation, will be in digital format and will include online games, knowledge dynamics and another innovation: the financial plan will also be included in the manual.
