The Portuguese startup Talkdesk, founded by Cristina Fonseca and Tiago Paiva, has netted €123.4 million in Series C venture capital investment, bringing the total value of the company to €3Bn.

Founded in 2011, the cloud software company for contact centres closed the latest investment round with Franklin Templeton, Willoughby Capital, Skip Capital, Lead Edge Capital and Top Tier Capital Partners as new investors together with the existing investors Viking Global Investors and Threshold Ventures.
Since its foundation, Talkdesk has raised US $268 million in finance rounds. This latest round has arisen as a result on the latest 12 months of growth and product development worldwide.
During this period, Talkdesk has announced more than 600 solutions including ‘Talkdesk 20-in-20,’ a programme that led to the launch of 20 new products in the first 20 weeks of 2020.
With this round, Talkdesk aims to “capitalise on its current position and continue its growth at a global level”.
It also wants to “increase its focus on R&D and invest in market approaches, sales, marketing and the development of channels in line with the expansion of its operation.”
“Providing a unique experience for clients has never been so important and this round of financing is a reflection of just how critical that need is regarding how brands seek to grow in the current context,” says Tiago Paiva, CEO and co-founder of Talkdesk, quoted in a communique.
Talkdesk has over 1,800 clients in 75 countries and is the third Portuguese unicorn with a client portfolio that includes IBM, Trivago and Peleton.
