Luxclusif, the online luxury second-hand fashion accessories platform will now be able to draw on a larger staff complement thanks to its purchase by Portuguese unicorn Farfetch.

Founded by Guilherme Faria and Rui Rapazote, the luxury second hand platform will employ around 100 staff in Portugal.
Luxclusif was purchased by Farfetch, a leading online luxury retail fashion outlet, at the end of last year and has an office in Porto with some staff working flexible hours from home in places like Viana do Castelo, Aveiro and Coimbra.
Luxclusif began by having a dedicated team in Portugal in the technological area, but the 50 or so staff it currently employs cover all areas of the organisation.
“Portugal continues to be a market with excellent professionals, where there is a good balance between people and technology, and with experience in startups and rapid expansion business models.
“On the other hand, now being part of the Farfetch Group, we believe that there are important synergies in being in the same place as the group’s main teams”, says Rapazote.
All told, the company that was acquired by the Portuguese-British unicorn Farfetch founded and led by José Neves in order to dominate the online second hand luxury brand clothing, shoe and accessories B2B market, has 130 staff with a direct presence in the Philippines, Japan and China, and also has outsourcing operations in Estonia, and the US. Luxclusif will retain part of Farfetch’s independent business and in this sense will see its team doubled.
