Azores Airlines recovers with 1M pax

Azores Airlines has already exceeded more than a million passengers in 2022 – a new record for the airline.

The moment was marked by a surprise celebration at the check-in balcony for flight S4 172 departing from Ponta Delgada with destination Porto on November 29.
A giant boarding pass made for the occasion and a certificate was given to the passenger by the President of the SATA Group just before boarding.
“This is a symbolic day for everyone who works to make the growth in operations at Azores Airlines possible and it made sense to share our success and enthusiasm with the passengers who choose to travel with us.
“After all, without the confidence that passengers place in all of us we would not have been able to reach this historic milestone of one million passengers for the airline in just one year”, said the president of the SATA Group, Luís Rodrigues.
The SATA Group which has Air Açores and Azores Airlines had reached the million passenger milestone on August 3. In the summer of 2022 the two airlines had already exceeded the amounts of passengers registered in the pre-pandemic period.
