The former head of the Portuguese public debt and treasury management entity, IGCP, economist Cristina Casalinho is to quit her job at bank BPI as Sustainability Director in favour of running the day-to-day management of the Gulbenkian Foundation.

The foundation, headed by António Feijão, announced on Monday the new executive board members with Cristina Casalinho appointed an executive director and Isabel Capeloa a non-executive director from February 1, 2024.
Cristina Casalinho, who has already been part of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation since 2022, when she left the IGCP, returned to BPI where she had been the chief economist at the bank until 2012, to become director of sustainability.
The Gulbenkian Foundation also announced the entry of Marika Hedin to the board of directors as a senior adviser sharing responsibilities with the former board president, Emílio Rui Vilar, starting from December 14.
