The Duo Hotel Lisbon, close to Lisbon’s Cais do Sodré and Mercado da Ribeira and part of its Curio Collection is open.

Officially opening in June, the hotel located between Rua da Boavista and Rua Dom Dom Luís features two distinct architectural styles – a traditional 19th century building and the construction of a contemporary one, both interlinked by a patio.

The hotel is managed by Feuring Asset Management GmbH and is described as a “tribute to Lisbon’s rich cultural heritage with a touch of modernity.”

The hotel has 75 rooms divided into seven categories from standard to King suites such as the King Azulejos Delux and King Azulejos. All with views over the river and original main mansion.

The décor combines locally inspired design elements such as hand-painted Portuguese tiles from the Viúva Lamego factory in a tribute to the tradition of Portuguese ceramics.

The New World (Novo Mundo) restaurant under Chef Marlene Vieira features traditional Portuguese cuisine with a modern touch. There is also a patio for outdoor events.

The Duo is the first of three new projects announced by Hilton for Lisbon. The next will be Hampton by Hilton, and the first hotel of the Canopy by Hilton to open in the city.

The projects arise on the back of a management agreement between Hilton and Feuring Asset Management GmbH announced las year.
