Portugal’s Topbrands invests €6 million in new premises

Topbrands, a company that supplies toys, childcare products, and outdoor living equipment and accessories to retailers, is to invest €6 million in new premises in Montijo creating 50 new jobs.

The new 12,000 metres premises will take 5 years to build and expand the production area to 2,000 metres.

After having entered the Angolan market, the company that supplies retail chains, is looking to expand to eight new markets such as Poland, France, Germany, and Holland.

After closing last year with a €6.9 million turnover, the company expects to achieve a €10 million turnover this year on the back of international expansion.

This year the company concluded its first contract in Angola with the retailer Arreiou to sell Christmas products (toys and games) to the retailer’s 300 stores.

In the national market Topbrands works with retailers such as Pingo Doce, Auchan, Intermarché, Worten, FNAC, Continente, and Aldi.

Now the company will be focusing on expanding to Poland, Romania, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Cyprus and Mozambique.
