Multinational car manufacturer Stellantis is to up production at its plant in Mangulade from 12 vehicles to 18 vehicles per hour.
To do this, it will create a fourth daily shift and install a photovoltaic energy production unit for auto-consumption (UPAC) according to online news source ECO.
These are some of the changes contemplated in the application of the car manufacturer plant’s environmental licence in the district of Viseu, which started producing electric vehicles at the beginning of the month.
An official source from the group led by Portuguese Carlos Tavares, who will step down from the company’s management in 2026, explained to online business news source ECO that these indicators are required to calculate the maximum possible impact of the industrial unit within the scope of its renovation: “The factory will not, for now, start producing 18 vehicles per hour or create a fourth shift, but the plan is on the cards.
