TMG merges with UK’s RTS Textiles

Portugal’s textile company TMG – Acabamantos Têxteis (TMG Group), the UK’s RTS Textiles Ltd (RTS) and Pakistan’s Sapphire Textile Mills (STM) have merged in a “strategic merger” under the umbrella of a company controlled by RTS.

The merger was completed on Monday, March 24 with the aim of combining the know-how of the three companies to strengthen their joint international expansion plan.

“In a strategic move aligned with our long-term vision, RTS Textiles Ltd (RTS) is pleased to announce that we are bringing together all our operations and joint venture partners under a single unified entity, RTS Textiles Group Ltd (RTS Group). This new global group of reference in the professional clothing and protective textiles markets will be led by RTS, with the interests of TMG – Acabamentos Têxteis S.A. (TMG) and Sapphire Textile Mills Limited (STM) maintained”, explain the three companies in a joint statement.

“This merger is a decisive moment for our industry and for all our partners. By uniting the experience, legacy and innovation of RTS, TMG and STM, we are establishing a stronger basis for growth and offering unparalleled value to our clients all over the world”, said Manuel Gonçalves, Director of TMG.

The companies said in the statement published on their websites that “this new integrated strategic merger will further strengthen the combined strength of the three companies,” adding that there will be no changes in ongoing projects or existing commitments with customers.

The group will include all of the brands and operations wholly held by RTS, including Carrington Textiles, Pincroft and Alltex, as well as the total property of CTI, MGC, and Melchior. The leadership of the new company will be held by RTS’s management “ensuring continuity and the retention of solid relations with clients” says RTS.
