Deloitte recognises Pedro Castro e Almeida, Guy Pacheco and Vera Bastos at IRGAwards
Deloitte recognised the leaders and organisations that most impacted the Portuguese market in 2025 at the Investor Relations and Governance Awards 2026 last week.
The awards recognise leaders and organizations that have excelled in the Portuguese market for excellence in governance, investor relations, innovation, and sustainability.
Among the honorees, the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to António da Silva Rodrigues, founder of the Simoldes Group, for his career and leadership that have contributed decisively to the consolidation and evolution of the Portuguese business fabric.
The CEO Award recognised Pedro Castro e Almeida for his performance in organisational management and contribution to market development.
The CFO Award went to Guy Pacheco, recognised for excellence in financial management in the context of great transformation.
The jury also awarded a Special Award to Emílio Rui Vilar, to highlight the importance of governance, a central concept in the name of the IRGAwards.
In the IRO Award category, the winner was Vera Bastos, for excellence in investor and shareholder relations.
The Transformation & Innovation Award went to the Ubbu – Programa o Futuro project, and the Sustainability Initiative Award recognised the Champalimaud Foundation for the “Halving the Carbon Footprint of Diagnostic Imaging” project.
The ceremony featured Keyu Jin, an internationally- renowned economist and one of the most influential voices in the relationship between East and West. The expert analysed the transformation of the Chinese economy and its impact on global value chains and international trade.
The jury, chaired by Vítor Bento and composed of various personalities such as Álvaro Nascimento, Ana Pinho, António Esteves, Céline Abecassis-Moedas, Duarte Pitta Ferraz, Isabel Furtado, João Moreira Rato, Patrícia Teixeira Lopes, Pedro Siza Vieira, and Nuno Fernandes, highlighted the resilience of Portuguese companies in a period marked by high geopolitical uncertainty, a retreat from globalisation, political conflict, and rapid technological evolution.
“We live in a context marked by high uncertainty, resulting from geopolitical tensions, the retreat of globalisation, increasing political conflict, and rapid technological evolution, which profoundly challenges business management.
Even so, companies and their leaders have demonstrated remarkable resilience, continuing to innovate and generate value consistently,” emphasised Vítor Bento.
António Lagartixo, CEO and Managing Partner of Deloitte, reinforced the relevance of the awards: “We are witnessing a global race for economic, technological, energy, cultural, and military supremacy.
A race that translates into the formation of new alliances, the emergence of new societal models, and the profound reorganisation of value chains. In this context, these awards assume special importance in the continuous promotion of leadership and the adaptability of organisations.”
