Portugal seeking investment from UK companies

Portugal’s prime minister António Costa says Portugal is open to investment from the United Kingdom.

At the ‘Portugal-UK Economic Forum’, which took place in London on April 11, despite Brexit, Portugal will continue to seek more investments from British companies in the national market.

The event was a joint initiative from Portugal’s investment agency AIECP Portugal, Portugal IN and Bloomberg.

The Portuguese prime minister will close the Forum which includes keynote speakers, the Secretary of State for Internationalisation, Eurico Dias.  The President of AICEP gave a presentation “Why Portugal?” on the competitive advantages of doing business in Portugal, the opportunities for UK companies and recent investment success stories.

The Portugal-UK Economic Forum aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and covered topics such as Foreign Direct Investment Trends and Insights” and “The Tech Lead Generation: Innovation and Finance.

AICEP President, Luís Castro Henriques, also met with investors that are already in Portugal or are interested in doing business in the country as well as making contacts with Portuguese companies that are based in the United Kingdom.
