The ‘Opportunities, Advantages and Disadvantages of Brexit for Portuguese Companies’ will be put under the spotlight at a seminar in Lisbon on April 17.

In a joint initiative between the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and the bank Santander Totta, keynote speakers will discuss the trade negotiations between the EU and the United Kingdom in the run-up to Britain leaving the EU.

The economic relationship between Portugal and the United Kingdom has been excellent and profitable for both countries for centuries with highly successful examples of foreign direct investment, trade and company success.

Brexit places new challenges on the table which is why it is important in this new phase of negotiations to highlight the main topics under discussion and the impact these could have on companies.

The speakers and participants will include Pedro Castro de Almeida (Santander Board), Kirsty Hayes, the UK Ambassador to Portugal, Chris Barton, CEO of the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, Stuart Green (Chief Economist Santander UK) ‘UK economic situation and the main opportunities for Portuguese companies’, Bernardo Ivo Cruz (London BREXIT Monthly Digest) ‘What happened and what might happen with Brexit’, Angela Teixeira (Administrator PETROTEC) and José Vital Morgado, (AICEP).
