Kevin Anderson knocked out by Stefanos Tsitsipas at Estoril Open

The South African tennis player Kevin Anderson was eliminated on Thursday at the Estoril Open.

 

The player considered Nº8 in the world lost to Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (Nº44) in the second round by 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-3 in two hours and 13 minutes.

Today (Friday) Portuguese player João Sousa will face Kyle Edmund (Nº23). On Thursday Sousa played alongside the Argentinean Leonardo Mayer in doubles and passed through to the semi-finals of the Estoril Open.

The two players took 57 minutes to beat the Dutch duo Robin Haase and Matwe Midelkoop by 6-2, 6-4. Sousa and Mayer will now face the winners of the match between Kyle Edmund and Cameron Norrie (UK) and Australians Alex de Minaur and Lleyton Hewitt.

The Estoril Open, which on Thursday received the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, runs until Sunday, 6 May.
