TAP elected “Europe’s Favourite Airline”
Portuguese national airline carrier TAP has been voted “Favourite Airline in Europe”.
The distinction was given by the US on-line travel magazine Trazee Travel which focuses on travellers aged between 18 and 35.
The award was handed to TAP representatives at the Trazee Travel Awards which took place in San Diego, California on 14 August.
There were four other finalists in the running for Best European Airline including Brussels Airlines and British Airways.
According to a company spokesman “TAP has been increasingly targetting a younger market by meeting its needs and studying its motivations for travel. In 2016 TAP introduced a new concept in its ticket fares allowing passengers a choice between different products and service levels that better suit their travel needs.”
The nominees were selected according to an on-line poll from readers and staff at the magazine. It is the fourth consecutive year that Trazee, which belongs Global Traveler, has held the awards.
The award for Favourite International Airline went to America Airlines while Alaska Airline picked up the trophy for Best North American Airline. Best Green Airline went to Norwegian Air while Favourite Budget Airline was snapped up by Aerolineas Argentinas.
In the Favourite European Airline category TAP beat Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Turkish Airlines and British Airways.
