The presentation of a surfing event which wants to create a talk-shop and think-tank for all surfing enthusiasts in Portugal kicks off this weekend at FIARTIL in Estoril.

Surf Out Portugal which runs this Saturday and Sunday and is organised by brothers Patrick and Salvador Stilwell eventually has ambitions to be a European meeting point for the professional and amateur international surfing community involving entities, brands and the surfing enthusiasts public from all over the world meeting in Portugal.

The presentation of Surf Out Portugal will take place on 15 and 16 September at the Estoril Handicrafts Fair (Feira de Artenasanato do Estoril (FIARTIL)

“The aim is to take advantage of the fame and publicity that Portugal has gained in recent years and pave the way for a “more inclusive and concentrated vision” between the main stakeholders in the industry” and strengthen a sport whose sector still largely revolves around tourism and surfers.

In statements to the newspaper Jornal Económico, the two young entrepreneurs who have been surfing enthusiasts since they were children, say they want to bring the surfing industry and community together in one space, at one unique event and create an event which truly celebrates surfing.

The main goal is to foster a debate about a sport which could elevate Portugal as the leading surfing centre and destination internationally while creating a company ecosystem centred around the sport.

Over 60 brands, services and products linked to surfing will be on display at FIARTIL which usually attracts thousands of visitors
