SIL Property Award goes to Algarve’s MAR Shopping

The Algarve’s MAR Shopping picked up the ‘Best Real Estate Development’ at this year’s Portugal Property Fair SIL which ran in Lisbon last week.

It won the award in the category “Commerce, Services and Logistics” at a ceremony which took place on 3 October which took place at the city’s fairs venue Feira Internacional de Lisboa.

The decision was made by the jury from the Fundação AIP (Portugal Industrial Association Foundation) and the SIL Strategic Council which selects and awards developments in a wide range of categories and was unanimous in this award because of the shopping centre’s contribution to the development of the real estate sector.

The decision took into account the development’s architectural qualities, its overall design concept and its features in terms of innovation, functionality, urban planning, architecture, structure, energy efficiency and the way it blends within the urban and surrounding landscape, not to mention its technical and construction qualities.

MAR Shopping Algarve is a modern shopping centre with the latest innovative digital features and a new good court concept in Portugal. It also has a leisure and open air area, the first of its type to be integrated into a shopping mall project in Portugal. The project is based energy and environmental sustainability  featuring some of the latest innovative digital technology solutions ever developed for commercial centres and is the largest and most innovative shopping centre in the Algarve region with both an IKEA and Designer Outlet Algarve.
