“Portuguese Trails” voted “Best Tourism Site/APP”

The digital online platform “Portuguese Trails” from Portugal’s tourism bureau Turismo de Portugal  has won the award “Best Tourism Site/App” at the XXIst edition of ACEPI Navegantes Awards which rewards the best of Digital Economy in Portugal.

“This is yet another recognition of the projects that we have been developing to place Portugal as a top international destination in this genre of tourist experiences.

“This platform is one of the initiatives from the project Portuguese Trails which aims to attract new segments of demand and which have sustainable growth potential, reinforcing tourism’s role as an economic, social and environmental hub nationwide,” says the Luís Araújo, President of Turismo de Portugal.

Dedicated to Portugal’s national Cycling and Walking offer, this digital platform is available in five languages and developed in partnership with Portugal’s seven tourism regions and with inter-municipal communities, associations and tourism companies in a campaign involving public and private entities.

The ACEPI Navegantes 21st awards showcases the best of Portugal’s digital economy in all areas, rewarding projects that contribute towards the promotion and development of the Digital Economy and Knowledge Society at a national level.

The website portuguesetrails.com is dedicated to cycling and walking opportunities in Portugal, differentiating its 7 touristic regions. This website was developed by Turismo de Portugal, I.P. and aims at simplifying access to relevant information for those who choose Portugal to practice these activities. The Turismo de Portugal, I.P. is part of the Ministry of the Economy and aggregates in a single entity all institutional competences regarding tourism promotion, from supply to demand.
