Porto has been chosen for the first YOTEL on the Iberian peninsula which will open in 2019.

Over €30 million has been invested in the hotel which will be in the heart of the city in Rua de Gonçalo Cristóvão.

The hotel, which features 147 rooms, follows the design model of the group’s hotels in New York and Singapore.

It will also boast smart-beds which are adjustable beds made exclusively for the hotel group.

YOTEL is characterised by luxury design spaces where accessibility is one of its differentiating points: the entrance to the rooms is made without keys and check-in and check-outs can be made by using easy access reception kiosks.

The hotel will also boast a 24/7 gym, a sky bar and terrace.

“We are very excited with the opening of our first hotel in Portugal, in Porto. Porto has very typical Portuguese traditions that we want to respect. The Porto hotel market has grown around two digits in three consecutive years showing the increasing strength to meet ever greater demand.

“The region’s economic growth combined with new air routes and countless international events will contribute for the region’s continued development,” says YOYEL CEO Hubert Viriot.
