Investors from the Middle East are looking for property opportunities in the Portuguese capital according to a report.

The property consultant Savills states that the European cites currently sought after for investment opportunities from Middle Eastern investors include Lisbon, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Bucharest, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Dublin.

These cities have been recommended in the report by Lydia Brissy, director of Savills Research Europe.

Office projects continue to be the best choices for investors. Other asset classes also attracting interest from the Middle East include students halls and assisted residential complexes for the elderly.

The main cities attracting investment in office premises include Lisbon, Madrid, Athens and Milan among others.

The report was published by Arabian Business which indicates that European real estate continues to be an attractive investment since Europe has a growing economy, low unemployment and a healthy demand for both traditional and alternative offer.

Savills estimates that Portugal will achieve robust annual increases of around 80% for one-bed to three-bed properties this year.
