CBRE launces 3rd Proptech Challenge in Portugal

Startups with innovative projects in the property technology segment have until 11 November to sign up for the 3rd Proptech Challenge.

After a successful second edition, with over 180 projects in the competition and 320 participants, CBRE, a UK origin international real estate consultancy is presenting the 3rd edition of its competition aimed at inovation in the real estate sector – Proptech Challenge.
The Europe-wide competition which covers six territories in which CBRE has a presence, is looking for talent with disruptive and inovative ideas which could, through technology, modernise and shakeup the property sector in Portugal and in Europe.
At last year’s challenge there were three Portuguese among the finalists: Spott, Infraspeak and Alfredo.
Applications will be accepted from 7 October, 2019 until 11 Nobember. All applications can be submitted on the site dedicated to the competition.
Candidates can apply at an individual level or, in the case of startups, in group. The two competition categories are: Disriptive Idea Award and Startup Award.
The projects will be evaluated by a national and international jury panel, which will include Francisco Horta e Costa, General Director of CBRE Portugal, Miguel Paiva Couceiro, Development Director, Paulo Soeiro de Carvalho, former Muncipal Director of the Economy & Inovation at Lisbon City Council, and Susana Sequeira, founder and non-executive CEO of MSTF Partners and panel investor on the show Shark Tank Portugal.
Like last year, the investors will get the opportunity to take part in this acceleration programme, in a direct development laboratory in CBRE offices in Germany, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and United Kingdom, as well as in a roadshow taking in different countries.
The winners will receive know-how, team guidance, as well as €20,000 prize money in the Startup cateoroy and €10,000 in the Ideia category.
