A record number of visitors passed through the turnstiles at the 22nd edition of the Portuguese Property Fair (SIL) which ran last month.

Spanning two pavilions were no less than 380 exhibitors and over 24,000 visitors — a new 10-year record — and 15% of all commercial traders at the fair closed deals.
SIL 2019 which ran between 10-13 October at the trade fair site FIL at the Parque das Nações in Lisbon enjoyed growth of 20% on 2018 and just in developer attendees alone the increase was 72.12% while the number of estate agents and agencies was 7.6% up on last year.
There were over 20,000 m2 set aside for the biggest and best projects being developed in Portugal. At this edition several new real estate projects were launched while there was a strong presence from new national and international real estate developers.
For market players, SIL was the stage where deals were done. “SIL reflected and contributed towards the growing dynamism of the sector and we have created value for the companies that were present at the fair because of the deals that were done and which were, in effect, achieved on the back of the event” says Sandra Bértolo Fragoso, SIL manager.
Among the highlights at the fair was the 1st edition of “Ladies in Property,” an event which discussed the impact that women have on the real estate sector in Portugal and organised by SIL which brought together a dozen lady real estate influencers who spoke about the challenges of being a woman in a mainly male dominated market.
