The Portuguese wood specialist construction company Carmo Wood has decided to focus on the luxury camping sector or ‘glamping’.

The company has been chosen to build Vieux Port, one of the most sophisticated high-end camping sites in France.
The project, which is worth €1.5 million, reflects Carmo Wood’s rapid system of prefabricated production and assembly which makes it more competitive in the market.
Carmo Wood is recognised internationally in designing and assembling hard-wearing and long-lasting wooden buildings and now, allied to a rapid production and assembly system designed by the company specifically for camping structures, Carmo Wood was awarded the large project in France which involves pathways, pergolas, houses, terraces, street furniture, balconies and overhangs, and all of the other structures necessary for the French glamping park.
The company, which so far is focusing on the markets in France, Spain and Portugal, sums up its activity in a few words: “Design, aesthetics, speed, durability and integration with nature”.
“This contract award will once again reinforce Carmo Wood’s position of leadership in the French market for this kind of luxury camping structures, a very relevant market for the company,” says Jorge Milne e Carmo, President of Carmo Wood.
“The camping parks and glamping segment is growing daily all over the world and Carmo Wood now has a great advantage in the market thanks to developing a new system of production and assembly allowing the company to be able to meet the most demanding contracts from clients who are looking for design, aesthetics, speed, durability, and integration in nature. Portugal, France and Spain are the markets in which we are focusing on right now,” says Jorge Milne e Carmo.
