Accelerating digitalisation in health

The coronavirus pandemic has exposed glaring deficiencies in the healthcare systems on the world; this, along with ageing populations and the global proliferation of chronic diseases, will pull forward much needed investment in the global healthcare. 

At the same time the coronavirus has accelerate the merging of healthcare and technology, with various applications working to combat the virus – artificial intelligence, blockchain, 3D printing, robotics and more 

World healthcare expenditures, healthcare R&D and digitalisation are set to accelerate in pharmaceuticals, diagnostic equipment, medical software/hardware, telemedicine and related medical goods and services.  

Health is an important driver for wealth and economic growth, thats why the EU health agenda towards affordable, sustainable and innovative health systems is so urgent in all industries (pharmaceuticals, eHealth, medical devices, consumer, and transport industries) ensure however that new healthcare-related legislations and policies add value to, and benefit, the entire healthcare ecosystem.
