Shaw appointed CEO of CPP for Portugal

The CPP Group, a UK-based global product and services company specialising in the financial services and insurance markets, has appointed Justine Shaw as CEO for Spain and Portugal (CPP Group Iberia).

Shaw, who has been exercising the functions of managing director to date, and is part of the board of directors for the Iberian region, will also be responsible internationally for People and Culture.
The appointment signals a clear commitment to developing business in Spain and Portugal which are considered strategic markets for the company which is based in Leeds.
“Spain is a very important market for the CPP and has enormous potential to continue growing,” says Justine Shaw.
According to reports in the Spanish press, Alfonso Gutiérrez will continue to head commercial and marketing, while the area of customer experience and current business management will fall to Enrique Jiménez.
“Over the past 25 years we have created an excellent reputation in the real estate market, through our products and customer service, aspects that we will continue to consolidate in the long-term with our partners,” adds Shaw.
The company’s main partners include, among others, the insurance companies AXA, Allianz Partners, Chubb, Gallagher, Mapfre, Zurich and the Turkish insurer Anadolu Sigorta. The package of solutions offered by the insurance group includes cybersecurity, and parametric insurance via a platform called Blink, an Irish InsureTech which is part of the CPP Group Plc.
The Company was founded by Hamish Ogston on 14 April 1980 as a provider of card protection insurance. It acquired its Homecare Insurance and Mobile Phone Insurance businesses in 2001, Metris Enhancement Services in 2003 and Leapfrog Group in 2009.
Having listed on the London Stock Exchange in March 2010, CPP moved to AIM in February 2015.
Sir Richard Douglas Lapthorne, Nicholas Ian Cooper and Mark William Hamlin joined CPP on 5 May 2016 replacing the previous board after a ‘General Meeting’ was requested by shareholder, Schroder Investment Management Limited.
In March 2017, CPP acquired Blink Innovation: the only InsureTech business in the FCA’s prestigious ‘Project Innovate’ sandbox.
