Construction slows 1.6% on July

The construction production index increased by 2.6% in August in like-for-like terms but slowed by 1.6 percentage points on July this year according to the National Statistics Institute. (INE)

Across segments, the construction of buildings grew 0.1% (against 1.2% in July) and civil engineering’ slowed 2.5 percentage points to a variation rate of 6.5%.
According to the INE the employment and salary indices fell 0.2% and 11.3% respectively (0.2% and -11.5% in August 2020).
