The Portuguese hotel group Vila Galé is to create 4 new hotels in an investment of €35 million.

The hotel group will create a new hotel aimed at families with young children in Beja, a 4-star hotel in Tomar and another in Ponta Delgada, followed by the renovation of other pre-existing hotels.
The largest investment will be made at the new Vila Galé Collection São Miguel hotel in the centre of Ponta Delgada, in a €12 million investment involving the conversion and refit of the former Convent and Hospital of São Francisco, in partnership with the Santa Casa da Misericórdia. It will have 93 rooms, restaurants, a bar, pools, the Satsanga Spa & Wellness centre.
In Tomar, the group will invest €10 million in restoring and refurbishing the various areas of the former Convento de Santa Iria and the Ladies College, turning it into a 4-star hotel with 100 rooms, restaurant, bar, Satsanga Spa & Wellness, indoor pool, and events room for 200 people. The theme of the hotel will be the Order of the Knights Templar.
In Beja, the Vila Galé Group will launch an innovative new hotel concept. This hotel will be dedicated to children as an aqua park with various outdoor pools, water slides, carrousels, trampolines, inflatable water toys, a club (Nep Club) with a ‘toytech’ and a children’s spa.
The 3D decor in this hotel, a climbing wall, a pool with balls, slide and activities programme suitable for children are just some of the characteristics of this hotel.
On the same estate (Vila Galé Clube do Campo) the Portuguese group will invest €3 million in a new agro-tourism hotel focused on couples, with theme rooms, outdoor pool, and events and meeting rooms.
