Media Capital appoints new CEO

Pedro Morais Leitão is the new CEO of Portuguese media group Media Capital after its former CEO, Luís Cunha Velho resigned.

In a communiqué sent to the Portuguese stock market commission CMVM, Media Capital, which owns the TV channel TVI, informed: “The Board decided today to accept the resignation from the post of CEO from Luís Cunha Velho, Pedro Morais Leitão has been appointed for the current term 2020-2022.
“Pedro Morais Leitão” returns to the Media Capital Group where he had already performed the role of CEO of Media Capital Multimédia and was responsible for the creation of the portal IOL”, states the owner of TVI and CNN Portugal.
The Board of the Directors “thanks Luís Cunha Velho for all his efforts and dedication shown while in the post, and wishes the new CEO of the Group every success”, reads the statement.
