30 startups pitch on the beach

Thirty startups, 14 of them Portuguese met at Oeiras Marina earlier this month to catch the sun and hopefully some of the €77 million available investment from national and International investors.

The US entrepreneurial and networking event which ran between 2-4 July was dubbed ‘Pitch at the Beach’. It was the first time it was organised in Portugal.
“It was a different kind of event, far from the usual hotel meeting rooms or congress centres where such events usually take place. It was far more relaxed and informal, there were no CEO or CFO badges or wrist bands.
“We offered the infinite possibility to network in an event where just good ideas and experiences shine”, explains Israel Pons, co-founder of Pitch at the Beach.
Over the three days at Oeiras Marina there were presentations and discussions about the latest technology trends including metaverse, NFTs, cryptocurrencies, soft skills development and capital.
“I have already take part in three editions in Mexico and it is a unique event with a vast range of opportunities for startups, including rubbing shoulders with investors and hearing speakers who are specialised in matters of interest and with interesting stories to tell”, says Eduardo Baptista, CEO of Taguspark.
“It was an event by the beach in a borough with fine weather, a good quality of life, a strong link to innovation from development to technology. Our startups and these factors have everything to do with Taguspark and Oeiras Valley,” he added.
The 30 companies who made their pitch were selected from 450 applicants and included the Portuguese startups Artshare, Bandora, CascataChuva, Explore, Funpass/FestForward, Glasson, Inocrowd, Logrise, Midiacode, Sizl, TheStarter, Timeview, Tripr and Wingdriver.
