Portuguese national carrier TAP has reached an agreement with the Portuguese Civil Aviation Pilots Union (SPAC) over allowances.

The agreement was after a legal writ had been served on behalf of pilots concerning a complementary meals subsidy while in service (landing subsidy) and a per diem allowance which will now be ratified at a pilots meeting.
“Thanks to the agreement which has now been reached, one which is advantageous for both sides, and which denotes a sense of responsibility from our pilots, it will be possible to reduce the financial impact on TAP”, states the airline.
“The agreement also foresees the recommencement, from September, of negotiations to (reach) a new Company Agreement, which it is hoped will be concluded in the coming months”.
“An important step on the path to industrial peace” and a commitment from both sides to encourage dialogue with the aim of finding a resolution to future collective differences and conflicts.
“TAP and SPAC are confident that they can take a decisive step forward in bringing their relations back to normal, while ensuring an active cooperation regarding the company’s recovery and its Restructuring Plan approved by the European Commission, essential for the company’s survival”, states a communiqué from the airline.
