Airbus steps up production in Santo Tirso

Airbus Atlantic will this week inaugurate new group premises in Santo Tirso near Porto where it produces components for the Airbus A320 and A350.

The new factory will cover a 20,000m2 site when works are completed in an investment of €40 million. The operation already involves around 100 employees with an expectation to employ up to 150 by the end of the year.
The factory will produce aircraft seats for passengers and pilots (which will be marketed under the brand Stelia Aerospace.
STELIA Aerospace is a commercial brand of Airbus Atlantic dedicated to the company’s Cabin Furnishing activity.
Airbus Atlantic is the world number 2 in aerostructures, the world number 1 in pilot seats and is in the world top 3 for Premium passenger seats.
Cédric Gautier, CEO of Airbus Atlantic, will lead the inauguration ceremony, which will be attended by Alberto Gutierrez, COO of Airbus and of the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa.

Airbus Atlantic Portugal is part of a robust, coherent and integrated industrial system, with the aim of gradually developing a strong competence in the manufacture of aerostructures, in the north of the country”, states the company in a communiqué.
