Magazine Imobiliário awarded its annual Personalities in Real Estate Awards on Thursday at the Paço do Arcos Vila Galé Hotel near Lisbon.

As is tradition, the two-hour event celebrated the event with a pleasant cocktail party with some of the most respected people from various segments of the sector at the seaside hotel.
The event also served to celebrate the magazine’s 9th anniversary — the real estate sector reference being founded by Portugal’s best known property sector journalist at the time, Joaquim Pereira de Almeida right in the depths of the Great Recession in 2012.
And it was to Joaquim that the magazine’s Career Personality Award was given posthumously. Joaquim tragically died suddenly in 2021 leaving the magazine in the capable hands of his wife Anabela Loureiro and editorial director Carla Celestino.
The other winner in the various categories were: Artur Varum, CEO of Civilria who picked up the Real Estate Personality Award 2022, António Carlos Rodrigues, founder and president of Grupo Casais (Construction Personality Award 2022), and Paula Sobral, founding member of the Portuguese Association of Marine Litter (Environment Personality Award 2022).
Also, hotelier Raul Martins, former president of the Portuguese Hotel Association (AHP) and Chairman of the Board of hotel group Grupo Altis (Tourism Personality 2022) and António Joaquim Gonçalves, founder Grupo Libertas (Personality of Merit Award 2022).
The special Career Personality Award 2022 to Joaquim Pereira de Almeida was attributed in partnership with the APPII (Portuguese Association of Real Estate Developers and Investors) and APEMIP (Portuguese Association of Estate Agents and Professionals)
