Electricity consumers will be forking out an average 11% on their bills from January next year.

This will increase the amount householders pay one their bills by between 35 cents and €2.15 depending on consumption.
“Taking into account that between December and January the expected average increase in the price of energy in the regulated market will be around 1.1%, it is possible to conclude that for a couple without children, the increase will be between 35 cents and 40 cents, for a couple with two children it will be between 95 cents and 1 euro, and for the last profile [couple with four children] around €2.15”, states Selectra published in a report by online news source ECO.
“In other words, the greater the consumption, the greater the impact felt, and therefore it will be up to consumers to find strategies that allow them to consume energy more efficiently”, concludes Selectra.
Selectra is an entity that has been helping energy consumers in Portugal on their energy and telecommunication bills since 2015.
