The Portuguese bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos has won the award for ‘Best Digital Assistant’ at this year’s Banking Tech Awards.

The awards highlight the best technology solutions in the banking sector worldwide. The CGD award is added to other awards that the bank has picked up for the tool which makes links between the company and its clients easier.
The information was divulged by the bank in a communiqué where it states that the technology is 100% Portuguese and uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and natural language processing technology (NLP).
The technology’s functions enable users to carry out transactions, consult their balances and statements, pay services, and carry out transfers by using their voice.
The award joins a clutch of awards and recognitions the bank has netted recently including at the IDC Portugal Digital Awards, Prémio Cinco Estrelas, iCXA – International Customer Experience Awards, Global Banking and Finance and the PaytechAwards.
The Caixa Assistant results from a partnership between Caixa and AgentifAI, a Portuguese startup that develops intelligent digital assistants by creating a humanised interactive experience between companies and their users using artificial technology (AI).
