The energy services company EnergyCon is to invest €25 million in Porto’s industrial area.

The company controlled by the Painhas Group will set up a renewable Energy Community in Porto’s industrial zone Ramalde reports business daily Negócios.
An Energy Community is an association that produces and shares renewable energy, generating and managing cost-effective green energy autonomously, reducing CO2 emissions and energy waste. The community may be composed of local citizens, businesses, public administrations, small and medium-sized enterprises.
So far the project has some 60 companies interested in signing up, as well as having the support of the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Porto Firefighters that will act as a “local ambassador” for the project.
The project comes nine months after EnergyCon created a similar project — its first renewable Energy Community – in Vila Nova de Cerveira (CER) with an investment of €10 million.
