The Portuguese group Olicargo Transport and Logistics, which has logistics platforms Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, and China, is to build a new 25,000m2 logistics centre to serve the Lisbon region.

Work on the installations were started in November 2022, and should be concluded in the first quarter of 2024 in an investment, which according to the online news source ECO, is around €17.5 million and will create 50 direct jobs and 18 indirect jobs.
The new logistics centre is in the district of Azambuja and comes after “demand for logistics services from prestigious national and international companies led to the “total occupation” of the three pre-existing centres serving Lisbon: Castanheira do Ribatejo, Alverca, and Póvoa de Santa Iria.
“In the middle of 2022, because of growing demand and a limit on available space in the market, we decided to build new premises that would enable us to continue to grow and develop in a sustainable way in the contractual logistics business”, says the director of Olicargo’s contractual logistics area, Américo Ribeiro.
This investment in the Lisbon region comes weeks after it started operations at a new logistics platform at Ribeirão, in the district of Vila Nova de Famalicão, one of the main industrial hubs in the north of Portugal.
