Portugal issues €750M in bonds at 2%

The Portuguese Republic has issued treasury bonds worth €750 million through its treasury and public debt management agency IGCP.

The short-term bond issues are for three and nine months with rates of return just above 2%. Portugal had aimed to issue up to €1Bn in treasury notes.
At the last auction of 11 month bonds in October 2022 the return rate was 2.104%, exceeding the 2% mark for the first time.
The last issue of three month treasury bonds in June 2022 saw €500 million of treasury bonds put onto the bonds market with an average interest yield of 0.302%.
