Sonae leads €20M Picnic investment
Bright Pixel Capital, the venture capital investment arm of Portuguese group Sonae, has led a €20 million investment round in Picnic – the first automised platform for the prevention of social engineering cyberattacks.
Bright Pixel Capital, formerly Sonae MI, has pledged to invest millions of euros over the next few years.
This month alone, Bright Pixel has led three investment rounds: US$5 million in Mayan, US$20 million in the British startup Seldon, and now a Series A US$20 million round in the Picnic Corporation together with Energy Impact Partners.
Carlos Neto, manager of Bright Pixel says that the Picnic platform corrects a blind spot vulnerable to cyberattacks that is important for companies trying to avoid them.
“Currently, attackers are using the personal data of staff to invade organisations, In this environment of threats, companies need to know what data represents a risk and to be able to proactively reduce and neutralise this data before it can be used for an attack.
“The Picnic platform enables cybersecurity teams to do exactly this and we are excited to be part of what they are creating”.
