British Government recognises Portuguese companies in the UK

The British Government recognised Portuguese companies that have invested in the UK at the 13th UK-Portugal Business Awards that took place on Thursday in Lisbon at the residence of the British Ambassador Chris Sainty.

Organised by the Department of Business and Trade (DBT), the Business Awards celebrate and recognise the efforts made by Portuguese companies that invest in the United Kingdom and the success of British companies in Portugal over the past year.
At this edition 27 companies received awards. The event aligns with the British Government’s drive for economic growth as well as strengthening and celebrating bi-lateral trade and investment between the two countries.
Regarding Portuguese investment in the UK over the past 12 months, the DBT registered a total of 14 investment projects, resulting in the establishment, acquisition or share in companies and capital investment of around €2.1Bn (£1.9Bn), creating 195 jobs in sectors like technology, cybersecurity, creative industries, and the financial and construction sectors.
These projects have benefited from support services from the British Embassy team both in Portugal and in the UK .

The Award Winners are:

Investment Expansion Award – Kinetikos, Blocotelha – Steel Constructions, and the Endiprev Group;
Global Entrepreneur Award – BoxtoLife Caixa Disruptiva,, Lda, O Gabinete, Yacooba Labs, Propdata (Alfredo AI – Real Estate Analytics) and B10SEC.

Also recognised in this edition were 20 British companies operating in Portugal that form part of a broad group of organisations supported by DBT in Lisbon over the last year, and which between them have drummed up an estimated €340 million of business (£299 million) in exports of products and services in various sectors, as well as a total investment in Portugal of around €1Bn (£895 million).

The winners are:

Business Development – Bonhams, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Frontier IP Group (with Aqualnsilico), Eleven and Leonardo.
Overseas Direct Investment and Business Development – Aethel Partners, BJSS, Round Hill Capital, The British School of Lisbon, Glennmont Partners and Lightsource bp.
Outstanding Overseas Investment – Arrow Global Portugal and Pioneer Point Partners LLP
New to the Market – NCC Group, Lucid Financial Markets and Aura Power.
Market Excellence – AstraZeneca Portugal, Ebury, Paysafe Group and Savills.
