Visa supports Portuguese fintechs

Visa has launched the first edition of Visa Innovation Program Europe in Portugal and Spain.

The programme, which has already kicked off in Spain, is being run in partnership with Fintech Solutions and Hackquarters and has a place for eight fintechs in the two countries.
In addition to supporting the development of solutions for challenges faced by the payments sector, VIPE also has the objective of improving the tools and products of the fintechs selected.
In an interview with ECO, Gonçalo Santos Lopes, Country Manager of Visa in Portugal said that VIPE was a collaborative platform designed to help fintechs to accelerate their solutions to meet the challenges of the future in the payments sector, helping them to improve the value of their own solutions, tools and products, as well as facilitating the supply of their solutions on Visas’s global client and partner networks in 200 countries.
This programme was launched for the first time in Turkey, Bulgaria and Greece in 2018 with the aim of helping the development of fintechs through a six-month programme.”We are very excited to bring this programme to Portugal in an edition shared with Spain, in collaboration with our partners, Fintech Solutions and Hackquarters, already experienced in past editions.
