Car components exports up 26.9%

Portuguese exports of car components rose by 26.9% in April to €899 million like-for-like on last year with the market growing ten consecutive months.

The data was released in a communiqué from the Portuguese Association of Automotive Industry Manufacturers (AFIA) based on a statistical calculation from international trade and goods released on Friday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
The accumulated value of car component exports rose 22.5% in comparison to the same period in 2022, to €3,945 million.
Of this amount, 70% went to five markets: Spain, Germany, France, Slovakia and the United States of America. (USA)
Spain continues to be the main buyer of car and vehicle components, with €1.2Bn, +21% on April 2022, followed by Germany (€887 million +29.5%), France (€441 million, +24.2%), Slovakia (€175 million, +29.4%) and the United States of America in fifth position (€150 million, -15.5%).
